SPW – Company profile and history
Bremen native Horst Hübner founded SPW GmbH in 1988 with his profound expertise and 40 years of experience in the industry. The business grew and developed into a flexible and innovative company with an average of 20 employees.
In 2004, the company was taken over by his daughter Claudia Adamczyk and her husband Jörg Adamczyk.
In addition to our own brands, the high-quality feathering and folding propellers for sailing boats VARIPROP, VARIFOLD and VARIPROFILE, we manufacture fixed pitch propellers and high-performance propellers for motor yachts.
To ensure a consistently high quality of the casting of our VARIpropellers, which are delivered worldwide, we cooperate with Raguse und Voss in Bremerhaven, one of the most modern casting plants. There are few casting plants that are able to cast our NiBrAl bronze as good as Raguse und Voss. They are perfect at their craft, which, together with our precise manufacture, is what leads to the high quality of our products.
Additionally, we offer high quality propellers in cooperation with Nakashima, one of the biggest and leading propeller manufacturers. We measure our customers’ propellers and create a construction for a new propeller, which is then cast at Nakashima.
If there is not enough time to manufacture a high-performance propeller for a motor yacht, we offer you a service in cooperation with our Partners. The propellers are milled after measuring and construction by our constructors at SPW GmbH and are ready for worldwide delivery within one week.
PROPELLERS AND PRODUCTS FOR ALL PURPOSES
Moreover, we manufacture special propellers for globally deployed free-fall lifeboats, stirrer propellers for dough mixers for medical and cosmetic products.
We also manufacture boat shafts, stern tubes, modern stuffing boxes, marine couplings and rope cutters and offer many more products, such as shaft bearings, shaft brakes and shaft seals.
In recent years, we have been making a consistent push to expand our relationships abroad. We now have dealers in Central America, Canada, South Africa, Australia, Southeast Asia, England, France, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain and Sweden.
Modern mechanical engineering
Equipped with modern CNC lathes and milling machines as well as with conventional machinery, our qualified employees produce machine components for container cranes for use in local port operations and beyond. They use the greatest care and reliability in producing these components and the many other components we produce.
With state-of-the-art technology, up-to-date software and hardware and digital measuring technology for quality testing our propellers, we guarantee ideal results.
