SPW GmbH: Switching over to CNC-machined gearing slashed the assembly time of sailboat propellers by between 25 and 30 percent. The small production team belonging to the Bremerhaven-based family-run company now need two hours less to produce Variprop and Varifold sailboat propellers, which are renowned worldwide and enjoy a strong demand.
35 Years of SPW
SPW GmbH celebrates its 35th anniversary in 2023. Since its establishment in autumn 1988 by Horst Hübner, the company has evolved into a leading provider in the field of propeller technology for both sports and professional boating. Claudia Adamczyk and her husband Jörg have been managing the company since 2004. In autumn 2022, Stefan Himme joined the management team as a further member.

You know me, I am easy to excite and if there is something or somebody doing amazing stuff in the colorful word of yachting, racing and sailboats, I will jump to my car and drive there to catch a story firsthand. It took me unusually long for writing the following article because my level of excitement after visiting the headquarter and production facilities of SPW Propellers in Bremerhaven was at a (seldom reached, even for to my standards) absolute high level. This, dearest readers, is something very special and I hope the following article can live up to what I have seen there.
